Apple St. Johns Town Center is Apple Inc.’s Jacksonville retail store. It sits at 4835 River City Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32246, inside St. Johns Town Center, the open-air mall on the city’s Southside. Google Places and Yelp list the phone as (904) 380-3080. In 2016, the Jacksonville Daily Record described the company as a seller of iPhones, iPads, Mac computers, accessories, and other products, and called the location the only Apple store in the area. News4Jax reported the same.

The location is a corporate Apple Store. It is not an Apple counter inside a Target, and it is not a carrier shop that sells iPhones. The operator is Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc. Tim Cook is the company’s chief executive. The Better Business Bureau maintains a public file for Apple Inc. at 1 Apple Park Way, Cupertino. That file is the parent company. Stay Safe Jax does not treat it as a grade for this Town Center store.

Apple opened at Town Center in March 2005 as one of the mall’s first tenants, according to the Daily Record and MacRumors. The original bay was 4712 River City Drive. On August 3, 2016, Karen Brune Mathis reported for the Daily Record that building plans showed a $1.5 million relocation into 9,141 square feet at 4835 River City Drive. That space was a former Forever 21 near J. Alexander’s, between Tory Burch and a Tesla Motors showroom. The new floor was about double the old one and a five-minute walk away. Tesla was also moving from a smaller bay. The Daily Record said the restaurant end of the center put Apple closer to parking on the southeast and southwest sides.

When that story ran, Apple Inc. said it had not made any announcements about the store. Simon Property Group, a co-owner of St. Johns Town Center, had no comment, the Daily Record reported. According to that report, the plans were in the permit file. Dakenna Development Inc. was doing landlord work. Canada-based Sajo Inc. proposed the Apple build-out. The architect was DH Architects of Alameda, California. The engineer was TES Engineering of Cleveland, Ohio. A pending permit listed tenant improvements: non-structural partitions, ceilings, finishes, furniture, and mechanical work. A little more than half of the store would be sales floor. The rest would be back-of-house offices, stock, and employee areas.

The Daily Record said the drawings matched Apple’s then-“next generation” stores: a large glass front, a massive video wall, at least 17 tables for product display and personal training (including Genius tables), and “The Avenue,” a run of accessories such as speakers and docks. That article cited Newsok.com reporting that Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive and Angela Ahrendts, then senior vice president of retail and online stores, designed the new stores.

MacRumors reported the relocated store opened Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 10 a.m. 9to5Mac listed Apple St. Johns Town Center among Apple’s 2017 retail moves: a larger, shorter space in the open-air mall. That year Apple was replacing traditional Genius Bars with table-based help and describing the stores as “town squares” under Ahrendts. Jacksonville got the larger floor. For this report, Stay Safe Jax did not find a second public Apple Store listing in Jacksonville.

A review of public news and Florida attorney general consumer materials for this report did not turn up a lawsuit or attorney general case naming this Town Center store. On March 14, 2018, Business Insider reported that Apple Store complaints nationwide clustered on crowds, Genius Bar waits, and reservations that slip. That article described Apple retail as a whole. It did not name this Jacksonville store.

As of September 2026, Google listed 3.6 from 2,381 reviews. Yelp listed 3.0 from 239. Those are public listing scores, not a Stay Safe Jax inspection. The Google listing’s review summary, labeled as summarized with Gemini, says customers describe staff as friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and that appointments can be ineffective and service can be slow. On Google, a reviewer using the name Jade wrote that the store is extremely busy because it is the only official Apple store in the area. A reviewer using the name Jonathan Melquist wrote that a booked 6 p.m. cracked-screen appointment was delayed after check-in and then rescheduled. Those are their posted accounts. Yelp highlights advise arriving in the last two hours before closing. A community answer on that Yelp page says an appointment is required for a repair or a purchase.

Google currently lists hours as Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hours change. Confirm the morning of a visit.
