Jacksonville Humane Society lists a Jump Into Joy adoption event for Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, 2026. The shelter's event page presents it as part of the Petco Love Jump into Joy Pet Adoption Event and invites people to meet adoptable dogs and cats. JHS hours on that page are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida. The same page lists a Saturday window at Petco in Fleming Island on November 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Official event listing: https://jaxhumane.org/events/jump-into-joy-adoption-event/

Key facts checked on the JHS Jump Into Joy page and related public listings: Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, 2026. JHS, 8464 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Petco in Fleming Island, November 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adoptable dogs and cats. Adoption Center phone (904) 725-8766. Pet Help Center phone (904) 493-4584. The JHS event page does not say adoption fees are waived for Jump Into Joy. This report does not add a waiver. Stay Safe Jax already reported a separate Veterans Day adoption event at the same shelter on November 11, 2026, that does list waived adoption fees. That is a different date and a different listing: https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/jacksonville-humane-society-veterans-day-adoption-event

The JHS event page names Petco in Fleming Island for Saturday without a street address on that listing. Clay County government lists Petco at 1514 County Road 220, Fleming Island, FL 32003, as a satellite adoption location. Confirm the store address and any on-site instructions with JHS before you go, because the shelter's own event page is the listing for this weekend. Clay County satellite page: https://www.claycountygov.com/community/animal-services/programs-and-services/satellite-adoption-centers jax.events also lists the Beach Boulevard weekend as November 7 through November 8 at Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd: https://jax.events/events/2026-11-07-jump-into-joy-adoption-event

Petco Love's national Jump into Joy page invites people to make November 7 and 8 the weekend to adopt. It says people can meet adoptable pets at participating Petco locations, connect with a local shelter, or join a flagship event in Houston. The same page says adoption event experiences vary by location. National page: https://petcolove.org/adopt/jump-into-joy/ That is a weekend invitation. It is not a Jacksonville-only promotion list. This report does not invent raffles, giveaways, or fee changes for the JHS dates beyond what JHS posted.

The JHS Jump Into Joy hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, match the shelter's posted weekend Adoption Center hours. The adopt page lists weekday hours of noon to 7 p.m. and weekend hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and says walk-ins are encouraged. Sign in at the front desk any time the shelter is open to meet a specific pet, according to https://jaxhumane.org/adopt/ You must be at least 18 to adopt, the how-to-adopt page says. Browse dogs and cats on that adopt page before you go if you want to see who is listed. Animals on the website can change between Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

This weekend is not the only November adoption date in Jacksonville, and it is not the same event as All Paws on Deck. The City of Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services lists All Paws on Deck on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the USS Orleck naval museum, 610 E Bay Street, with dogs available for adoption. Stay Safe Jax reported that city listing here: https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/all-paws-on-deck-uss-orleck-november-2026 JHS Jump Into Joy runs later into the afternoon on Beach Boulevard the same Saturday, and continues Sunday. People who cannot get downtown can use the JHS hours. People who want the riverfront city event can use the ACPS listing. They are separate organizations at separate addresses.

Wednesday, November 11, is a different JHS date. Jacksonville Humane Society lists a Veterans Day adoption event that day from noon to 7 p.m. at 8464 Beach Boulevard, with waived adoption fees and a note that additional fees may apply. Stay Safe Jax coverage: https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/jacksonville-humane-society-veterans-day-adoption-event If you are choosing among November dates, read each listing. Jump Into Joy is November 7 and 8. Veterans Day at JHS is November 11. ACPS later lists a Black Friday window at the Forest Street campus, already reported at https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/jacksonville-animal-care-black-friday-extended-holiday-hours JHS upcoming events also show Black Friday at JHS later in November. Those later dates are not this weekend.

Jacksonville Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter at 8464 Beach Boulevard. According to the organization's 2024 Annual Report, JHS does not euthanize healthy or treatable companion animals in its care and works with the city's Animal Care and Protective Services toward a city-wide save rate of 90 percent or higher. In 2024, JHS sheltered 8,561 animals, including 2,351 dogs, 428 puppies, 1,050 cats, and 3,742 kittens, and completed 7,241 adoptions. A combined JHS and ACPS statistics report comparing calendar year-to-date December 2024 and 2025 said JHS adoptions rose from 7,241 to 8,805, and that JHS reported a 91 percent save rate in 2024 and 92 percent in 2025. Those figures describe the shelter's year, not a count of animals assigned to Jump Into Joy. People who want to help without adopting this weekend can foster. JHS says volunteer foster families provide temporary in-home care for animals that are underage, sick, injured, in need of socialization, or in need of a break from the shelter. Any adult or family can foster. If you have pets at home, JHS says you must be able to separate the foster animal from your pets. The shelter lists needs that include underage kittens and puppies, nursing cats and dogs, ill or injured animals, kittens and puppies that need socialization, and adult dogs and cats that need a break. JHS also describes a Shelter Staycation program for adult dogs and cats, which you start by asking at the Adoption Center during posted hours. Foster page: https://jaxhumane.org/foster Pets currently listed as needing foster care appear at https://jaxhumane.org/fosterneeds

Donations are another path if you cannot adopt or foster this weekend. JHS lists individual giving options at https://jaxhumane.org/donations/individuals/ including one-time gifts. In-kind supplies can be dropped off at 8464 Beach Boulevard during operating hours, according to https://jaxhumane.org/donations/items/ That page says JHS also runs a Pet Food Bank in partnership with Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida. This report does not restate dollar amounts or wish-list prices. The JHS Jump Into Joy page does not describe a required donation at the door.

How this affects Jacksonville residents: Saturday and Sunday are open adoption hours at a Southside shelter that already takes walk-ins on weekends. Fleming Island residents have a shorter Saturday window at a Petco named by JHS. Downtown and riverfront residents have a same-day city adoption event at the USS Orleck in the morning and early afternoon. Veterans and others who are waiting for a fee-waiver date can look at the November 11 JHS listing instead of assuming this weekend is that holiday event. Call (904) 725-8766 if you need adoption questions answered before you drive. Call (904) 493-4584 for the Pet Help Center if you need admission or pet-resource help rather than an adoption appointment. Those are JHS numbers from the event page. They are not a city 630-CITY line. ACPS remains at 2020 Forest Street, with 630-CITY (904-630-2489) as the city information number.

What you can do: confirm hours on the JHS Jump Into Joy page before you go. Visit 8464 Beach Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on November 7 or 8 if you want to meet dogs and cats at the shelter. Use the Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fleming Island Petco window if that is closer, and confirm the store address with JHS. Read https://jaxhumane.org/adopt/ for walk-in and age rules. If Saturday morning on the river works better, see All Paws on Deck at https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/all-paws-on-deck-uss-orleck-november-2026 If you are waiting for the Veterans Day fee-waiver date, that listing is November 11: https://www.staysafejax.com/blog/jacksonville-humane-society-veterans-day-adoption-event Foster through https://jaxhumane.org/foster or give through the JHS donation pages if you cannot adopt.
